All Meta Knight had wanted was for Kirby to have some practice wielding a sword. How had it come to this? Well, it would've helped if Meta Knight had told Kirby that this was just training, however, he wanted Kirby to feel that this was a real threat. That way Kirby wouldn't hold back. They had sparred, Meta Knight teaching Kirby without the little one realzing it. And Kirby had been doing really good, putting his heart into every swing of his blade. At one point in the fight, both their swords had been thrown into to air and landed a short distance away. Meta Knight had leapt over to his sword while Kirby ran to his own. They picked up their weapons and pointed them at the other at the same time. It was only then did Meta Knight realize their predicament. If Kirby attacked, he would inadvertently hurt himself as well. The same went for Meta Knight. If he dropped his own sword, Kirby would attack, he was sure of that. The way he had been acting to Kirby had made the little one believe that he was truly evil. The only way out of this would for him to shock Kirby enough so that he would drop his own sword and Meta Knight could explain things through.
